After meeting in the state football title game last year, Carthage and Kilgore will be district rivals this season.

The new District of Doom will be District 9-4A Division I with Carthage, Kilgore, Chapel Hill, Brownsboro, Henderson and Palestine.

District 8-4A D-I includes Athens, Crandall, Kaufman, Mabank, Van and Wills Point.

Class 4A Division II includes three districts:

District 5-4A: Bullard, Canton, Rains, Gilmer, Melissa and Nevada Community; District 6-4A: Atlanta, Center, Gladewater, Spring Hill, Tatum and Pleasant Grove; District 7-4A: Fairfield, Groesbeck, Lorena, Rusk and Waco Connally.
