KILGORE — Three Kilgore area road projects will keep Texas Department of Transportation crews busy in 2014.

The projects are widening a stretch of State Highway 42, adding a left-turn lane on a portion of Farm-to-Market Road 349 and constructing a left-turn lane on U.S. Highway 259 Bypass near Synergy Park.

The Highway 42 project, will add a center lane. Construction is set from January to early fall. The bypass project will widen the road beginning at Highway 31’s intersection with U.S. Highway 259, adding a left-turn lane east to the Kilgore bypass.

Work to create a turn lane for southbound traffic at Synergy Park on the bypass has begun.
