A man wanted for assault by the Smith Cou-nty Sheriff’s Office was arrested Wednesday.

Wesley Brian McDade, 36, was wanted for felony assault after allegedly attacking his wife in October in their home on Texas Highway 155 South, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. McDade’s wife required medical attention for her injuries, according to police.

The department asked for the public’s help to find McDade on Monday. The alert, which was posted on the sheriff’s office Facebook page, Twitter account and distributed widely through the news media, led to a tip received by the U.S. Marshal’s Service as to McDade’s possible location at a relative’s home in the Lindale area.

McDade was found hiding under a trailer on the relative’s property and was taken into custody without incident, the release states.

He was booked into the Smith County Jail on charges of strangulation or suffocation of a family member, a third degree felony, and a parole violation relating to a previous assault charge.
