APPOINTMENT

Gollob Morgan Peddy is pleased to announce Kevin Cashion as the president of the newly chartered Toastmasters Club in Tyler. Cashion began his association with Toastmaster in 1993 and has received his Competent Toastmasters Certificate.

Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month beginning at 6:30 a.m. in the Gollob Morgan Peddy office at 1001 ESE Loop 323, Suite 300.

 

HONORED



UT Health Northeast has announced Dr. Ramakrishna Vankayalapati has been promoted to professor of microbiology and immunology. Vankayalapati, who joined UT Health in 1999, studies the immune system and how it responds to the bacteria that cause tuberculosis.

Dr. Michele Bosworth has been promoted to associate professor of family medicine. Dr. Bosworth, who joined UT Health in 2008, is interested in preventive health, women’s health and pediatric and adolescent medicine.

Yoland← D. Caddell, medical laboratory tech supervisor in Pathology, was honored for 35 years with UT Health Northeast.

Dr.William M. Girard, a pulmonologist in the Ralph and Mary Prince Heart and Lung Clinic, was recognized for 30 years with UT Health.

Claudette N. Clay, director of payroll services, Accounting; Tracy Drake, RN, nurse manager, Heart and Lung Clinic; Irene D. Johnson, client services analyst, East Texas Consortium; Donna G. Martin, director of compliance and information security officer, Compliance; and Annie L. Roten, director of accounting services, were honored for 20 or more years of service.

In addition, three employees were honored for 20 years of service: Dr. Malini R. Madiraju and Dr. Murty V. Madiraju, both professors of biochemistry, and Dr. Sreerama Shetty, professor of medicine.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Barry Brown, a Navy Reserve captain with more than 30 years banking experience, has joined Texas Bank and Trust as president of the bank’s Dallas market. Brown, who officially began his position on Oct. 1, will lead the Longview-based bank’s expansion into the North Texas Metroplex later this fall.

Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration/finance from Southeastern Louisiana University. He serves on the board of directors for the university’s foundation and previously served on the board of directors of the Navy League of the United States, Sarasota Bradenton Council.

A captain in the United States Navy Reserve, supply corps, Brown is an Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom veteran.

 

WORKSHOP

“Driving Workforce Change” will be the topic for the 2013 Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce Workshop to be held on Nov. 6. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Tyler Rose Garden Center. The workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Topics will include: Recruitment 101; Avoiding employee claims Understanding Obamacare; Social Media: Opportunity or Threat; Becoming an Employer of Choice and Developing your Leadership.
