Celebrity event planner set to speak at luncheon

Celebrity event planner Colin Cowie will be the speaker at the Texas Rose Festival Ladies Luncheon, organizers announced.

His list of celebrity clients includes Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez and Tom Cruise. He is a contributor to the “Today” show and author of several books on lifestyle and entertaining books

Born in Zambia and raised in South Africa, Cowie has a consulting business that works on international hospitality and design projects for hotels, retailers and airlines. He also is an avid supporter of charities focused on children’s education and health, according to information from the Rose Festival Association.

He will speak on “Living Chicly,” organizers said.

The Rose Festival Ladies Luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 18 the Green Acres Baptist Church CrossWalk Conference Center in Tyler.

Tickets can be purchased through the Cowan Center box office or by going to the website www.texasrosefestival.com. Reservations are required.

Chairmen of the luncheon are Kelley Brownlow and Jennifer and Matt Pierce. The premier sponsor is Trinity Mother Frances Health Systems and Clinics.
