The weather pattern is expected to remain the same through the weekend and into next week. Hot, dry conditions will persist with only a slight chance of widely scattered to isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms mainly in the southern counties of East Texas. High temperatures will reach the mid- to high 90s under mostly sunny skies. Winds will be mostly from the southeast 10 mph or less. Forecast models still indicate a better chance of rain and lower temperatures around the middle of the month.
