Pitting some of the best and most explosive football teams throughout East Texas, the Trinity Mother Frances Football Classic returns to Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium to celebrate its 10th anniversary later this week. Each of the three games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will kick off at 7:30 p.m.
The first game of the TMF Football Classic will renew a collision from 2011 when unbeaten and nearby rivals Chapel Hill and Whitehouse collide on Thursday night.
The second game of the Classic, on Friday, will feature Robert E. Lee vs. Lufkin. The Red Raiders started the 2013 season strong, collecting a 55-20 win at Sulphur Springs last week.
In the finale of the Classic on Saturday, John Tyler will meet Lancaster. The hungry Lions ended last season as a 4A state semifinalist.
The Trinity Mother Frances Football Classic was created by TITUS Sports Marketing, which provides sales and marketing assistance to Tyler ISD. The rich 10-year history of the Classic is loaded with state champions, as seven of nine times since the event’s inception in 2004, one of the participants ended its season with a state title.
Reserved tickets to the TMF Football Classic for Robert E. Lee and John Tyler high schools are available at the Tyler ISD Athletic Office at 807 W. Glenwood.
