Rusk County has enacted a burn ban.

The ban, which was ordered earlier today, states that outdoor burning “without proper precautions such as burn being well attended, enclosed in a burn barrel/receptacle, water availability, no wind blowing and permission from local/volunteer fire department for large burn” is banned in the county’s unincorporated areas.

The ban does not apply to firefighter training, public utility, natural gas pipeline or mining operations or harvesting of agricultural crops, according to the order.
