First Christian Church remodeling classrooms

First Christian Church, at 4202 S. Broadway Ave., is remodeling 8,000 square feet of classrooms for $300,000. Sentry General Contractors Inc. is the contractor.

Pleasant Hills Missionary Baptist Church, at 502 N. Horace Ave., is undergoing renovations for $92,000. Work includes exterior accessible stairs, new platform lift, remodeling the foyer and restrooms. Rev. Jerome Milton is listed as the owner on the building permit, while Dewayne Manning is the contractor.

Jackie Cheving is remodeling a 1,200-square-foot space for Shellac Nails Spa, in the Lone Star Shopping Center, at 2529 Fifth St., for $35,000. Work includes A/C unit, plumbing for pedicure station and building a restroom, eating room and waxing room.

David Allison is restoring Apartments Nos. 11 and 12 damaged by fire, at 710 Kennedy St., for $16,500 and $15,000 respectively. Hernandez General Contractors is the contractor.

Sign permits were filed by Azalea Orthopedic, 8101 S. Broadway Ave., $4,489, Leon’s Sings Inc.; Sub Zero, 6004 S. Broadway, Suite 203, $1,375, Leon’s Signs; and Fenton Mazda, 3225 SSW Loop 323, $3,972, Design Center Signs.



Commercial temporary power permits were filed for Palomar Apartments, Buildings 7 and 8, 5872 Old Jacksonville Highway; VIP Cleaners, 2084 Threelakes Parkway; Cumberland Place Apartments, Activity Building and Building Nos. 6, 7, 8 and 11, 2051 W. Cumberland Road; and Dr. Halaby, 5605 Old Bullard Road.

 

RESIDENTIAL

Campbell Custom Homes, of Bullard, is constructing a 6,481-square-foot home at 2009 Rose Road for Jay and Annalisa Stenklyft for $565,000.

The Scates Group is building a 5,620-square-foot house at 2342 Pinehurst St. for Shaun Tatham for $380,000.

Blue Haven Pools is constructing a $25,000 pool at 4006 Spartanburg.

Jay E. Field, of Troup, is adding to a pier and adding two pilings at 16823 Cardinal Lane for $2,000.

A-Z Construction is replacing two doors for Teresa Van Sandt at 4722 Downing St. for $1,005; and one door for Richard Johnston at 3404 McDonald Road for $872.

There also were 16 HVAC permits, one mechanical permit and one application for residential temporary electrical service.
