Healthsource Flint is hosting a blood drive with Carter BloodCare from 2 to 6 p.m. July 25 at 10678 Farm-to-Market Road 346 W in the parking lot.

Blood donors giving this month can visit the great rewards page on carterbloodcare.org to redeem a gift certificate for a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream. Plus, all donors will be entered to win other delicious prizes.

Potential blood donors can volunteer beginning at age 16 with a parent’s consent, and 17-year-olds can give independently. There is no upper age limit for giving. All donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good general health and present a photo ID each time they donate. It’s also a good idea to eat a nutritious meal and drink plenty of water before giving blood.
