All Saints was forced to call a timeout before the game’s first play from scrimmage.
It didn’t get much better from there.

The Trojans had 12 negative plays for a combined 67 yards in the opposite direction in a 37-0 homecoming loss to Dallas First Baptist on Friday at Mewbourne Field.
The Saints (5-1) held the Trojans (2-4) to 59 total yards and five first downs, creating four turnovers.
Garrett Black picked off two passes for First Baptist and hauled in five catches for 142 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown reception.
Saints quarterback Max Partlo, a 6-4 junior, fired off 40 passes, completing 21 of them for 284 yards. He threw four touchdowns to one interception, also rushing in on a QB sneak from a yard out. Partlo helped commandeer an offense that racked up 445 yards against a defense that surrendered 88 yards the week before.
Rice commit Trae Hart was Partlo’s the most targeted receiver, catching seven passes for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns. All Saints held the playmaker to 106 yards fewer than his average.
Merritte Greene led the Trojans with 39 yards on 10 carries, though he had a possible touchdown pass slip through his hands with nothing but green turf in front of him late in the second quarter.

Problems handling snaps and handoffs plagued All Saints throughout the night as the Trojans were unable to mount a sustained drive and never reached the red zone.
All Saints started poorly, calling a timeout before the first play and then losing 16 yards on the first two plays with William Young under center. When starting quarterback William Alexander returned on the next possession, the offense ended three straight drives in Saints territory. The Trojans turned the ball over once on downs and twice on an inside handoff that was not handled properly.
Despite an interception on its first drive, First Baptist took advantage of All Saints’ slow start. Partlo shrugged off the pick he threw to Spencer Ball to drive the Saints 68 yards in eight plays for a 6-0 lead with 4:30 to play in the first. After faking on a shovel pass to Hart that the Saints had run twice before on the drive, Partlo hooked up with Josh Johnson from 11 yards out for the score.
First Baptist made it 14-0 on a 25-yard toss from Partlo to Hart, who was lined up alone on the left side, opposite three receivers on the right, and took advantage of room to work with.
Though the Trojans stuffed the Saints at the goal line on the first series of the second half, First Baptist scored on its next two drives. Hart caught a ball near the sideline at the 2 before spinning inside to break a tackle and walk into the end zone to make it 22-0, and Partlo’s plunge made it 30-0 with 1:35 left in the third.
Black scored the game’s final touchdown after a crucial penalty on All Saints. The Saints were backed up to third-and-31 from their own 5 before a personal foul flagged on the Trojans after a play gave them a first down. On the next snap, Black snared a 35-yard pass from Partlo, broke one tackle and was off for the 80-yard score.
