Canton shuts out Rains, 49-0

CANTON — The Canton Eagles racked up 480 yards of offense in defeating the Rains Wildcats, 49-0, in the District 14-3A opener for both teams.
Quarterback Kade Warren threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more to lead the Eagles.
Canton (4-2, 1-0) jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead on a 38-yard scoring run by Colton Williams and a 3-yard pass from Warren to Nick Hobbs.
The Eagles tacked on 14 more in the second quarter on a 37-yard touchdown run by Warren just seconds into the period and a 38-yard scoring pass from Warren to Ethan Fields with seconds left before halftime.
Canton scored early in the third quarter on a 1-yard run by Warren and again with 1:43 remaining on a 10-yard run by Reece Sumner.
Canton closed out its scoring on a 7-yard run by Anthony Deville.
Rains fell to 0-6 and 0-1.
