KILGORE — On a wild night, a fumble return was the decider in a 47-41 Kilgore double-overtime win over Marshall Friday at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

With the score tied 41-41 and Marshall lining up for a field goal, a bad snap forced holder Roberto Casas to improvise, tossing the ball to Alandric Tutt, who was tackled and had the ball jarred loose. Kilgore’s Daquellan Scott scooped it up and ran 57 yards the other way for the game-winning score.

The win gives Kilgore (2-2, 1-0) the perfect start to its District 14-4A campaign while Marshall drops to 2-2, 0-1.
