Tigers jump on Whitehouse early in win

CORSICANA — Corsicana exploded for 48 first-half points and then held off the Whitehouse passing attack as the Tigers scored a 54-35 win over the Wildcats on Friday at Tiger Stadium.

Corsicana used a powerful rushing attack to swing the game into its column as the Tigers held a 48-21 halftime lead.



Cameron Washington led the Tiger rushers with 212 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries. Corsicana totaled 422 yards rushing.

Whitehouse had some impressive offensive numbers as well with quarterback Hunter Taylor throwing for 395 yards and four touchdown passes.

Taylor hit on 27 of 53 pass attempts.

Most Popular

Dylan Cantrell caught nine passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while Johnathan Aldridge added six receptions for 187 yards and a 90-yard TD.

Whitehouse returns to play on Thursday against Chapel Hill on Earl Campbell Field at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

Corsicana travels to East Texas on Friday to face Kilgore. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
