ETFinalScore.com is back and better than ever.

The website, launched by the Tyler Morning Telegraph and KYTX CBS19 last year for high school football season, returns to cyberspace Monday. It’s full of new features and is taking on a new level of local sports coverage.

ETFinalScore.com served as a top source for East Texas high school football in 2010, but now the site will encompass all local sports year-round. From high school football, to volleyball, basketball, college sports and much more, ETFinalScore.com is now the area’s No. 1 source for sports in East Texas.

“We are excited to launch this year’s edition of ETFinalScore.com with our news partner, CBS19,” Tyler Paper publisher Nelson Clyde said. “We believe ETFinalScore.com will be the gold standard for news and information about all local sports across East Texas.”

The new-look ETFinalScore.com, sponsored by Dairy Queen, Dr Pepper/Tyler Beverages and AT&T, features a new message board, blog and Facebook comments system, in addition to constantly updated news, video and highlights, photos, football pick ’em contest and more.

“We were thrilled with ETFinalScore.com’s success with high school football last year, and we’re excited to bring in all local sports into this site,” said Phil Hicks, sports editor at the Tyler Paper. “With our staff’s knowledge and ability to cover East Texas sports, we wanted to give our readers the best source for East Texas sports possible.”

More features will be added after the site goes live.

The Tyler Paper is producing a video project, “Flipping The Switch,” chronicling the Chapel Hill Bulldogs’ 2011 football season. A new episode will be featured on ETFinalScore.com each Monday, beginning Aug. 22. With highlights from games and practices and interviews with players and coaches, “Flipping The Switch” will be an in-depth look into the Chapel Hill football program as the Bulldogs work to return to the Class 3A Division I state championship game.

Also in the coming weeks, ETFinalScore.com will feature its own social network within the website, allowing fans to create profiles, upload photos and videos and interact with other fans around East Texas.

Sports readers on TylerPaper.com also will experience a change. Soon after ETFinalScore.com goes live, readers who click on the Sports tab on TylerPaper.com will be redirected to ETFinalScore.com.

As part of the newspaper’s partnership with CBS19, last year’s Friday night football show also will return. The show, which beginning Aug. 26 will air at 11 p.m. each Friday, will move from MYTX to KCEB the CW (Suddenlink Channel 5). The show will re-run at 11 a.m. each Saturday on CBS19.

“ETFinalScore.com is ready to be at the forefront of local sports coverage in East Texas. Through our coverage, social network presence and our ability to maximize resources with CBS19, we’re excited build on the product we released in 2010,” said Chase Colston, editor of ETFinalScore.com “And we look forward to continue to build our relationship with sports fans in East Texas.”

Readers and local sports fans are also invited to follow ETFinalScore.com on social networks.
