There will be rain and thunderstorms early today as the leading edge of cool air from Sunday’s thunderstorms over North Texas spreads through East Texas. Most of that activity will move into Louisiana by noon, leaving us with partly cloudy skies most of the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 94 degrees which is normal for mid-August. The rest of the week looks sunny and hot. High temperatures will range from 96 to 98 degrees through the weekend. Winds will be from the south from 5 to 10 mph.
