A disturbance will keep showers and thunderstorms in the forecast today, tonight and Friday morning. The heaviest rain in our area will fall over the northern half of East Texas. Rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches are possible. Temperatures will be in the low 80s this afternoon and again Friday afternoon. That’s a dozen degrees below normal for late July and early August which is typically our hottest time of the year. Mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 90s will return this weekend.
