Tyler’s Woldert Park Lake will be one of the first sites in the state to receive rainbow trout when it is stocked Wednesday.
As part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Neighborhood Fishing Program the lake will continued to be stocked about every two weeks until February.
In time for the Thanksgiving break, another stocking will be Friday at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens.
Also scheduled for stocking in upcoming weeks will be Tyler State Park Lake on Dec. 2 and Jan. 19 and Faulkner Park Lake on Jan. 3.
The Tyler Nature Center will be stocked with a total of 2,000 trout in time for the annual Trails to Trout event Jan. 2 and 9.
To fish for the trout on any of the lakes other than those within state parks, fishermen 17 years of age and older must have a valid freshwater fishing license as well as a freshwater stamp. The daily bag limit is five fish.
