Brown paper bags line the wall of the new Which Wich Superior Sandwiches in Tyler — the Dallas-based chain restaurant specializing in sandwiches and salads.

Shelby Wager and her husband, Stephen, opened the restaurant together after it stood out to them. Shelby, a registered dietitian, loved the options the menu offered.

"I love the fact that there are some healthy options," Mrs. Wager said. "Don't get me wrong, there are some unhealthy options. But if someone chose to eat healthy here they could."

The menu offers a vast variety of sandwiches that can be specialized when ordering by writing on brown paper bags available in the restaurant. Salads and milkshakes also are on the menu.

"We slice all of our meat and veggies inhouse," Mrs. Wager said. "That is the fresh product that our customers want."

Inside the restaurant, which opened Dec. 18, is a community wall where people can post news, reading material and information about upcoming events.

Which Wich prides itself on being a family and community-oriented restaurant.

They are involved in an outreach called Project PB&J, where for every peanut butter and jelly sandwich bought, one sandwich will be donated to the local community and one to the national community.

The Wagers will choose a local charity to donate the sandwiches to, but have not yet decided which one will benefit.

All of the sandwiches donated last year at the national level went to feed the first responders in Hurricane Harvey.

During the summer months, the company hosts a campaign called Flag Your Bag, where guests can color the back of their brown paper bag and it will be sent overseas to a member of the military.

"There is a certain vibe you get from Which Wich," Mrs. Wager said. "That is one of the many ... (reasons) why Which Wich stood out to us. And who doesn't love the cute brown bag? It is adorable."
