REDWATER - Kason Kienzle replaced injured starting quarterback Heath Hood and threw three touchdown passes in the second half, leading the No. 5 ranked White Oak Roughnecks to a 35-0 win over the Redwater Dragons.

The win moves White Oak to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the district, while Redwater drops to 5-3 and 2-1.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Roughnecks drove 41 yards in 11 plays and got on the board when Hood scored from five yards out 15 seconds into the second stanza.

A little more than two minutes later, the Roughnecks extended the lead on a 44-yard touchdown pass from Hood to Brandon Cook at the 9:11 mark. The TD strike capped a five-play, 44-yard drive and gave the Roughnecks a 14-0 lead at intermission.

Kienzle replaced Hood early in the third, and capped a five-play drive by hitting Chandler Benson on a 20-yard touchdown pass. The PAT failed, but the Roughnecks led 20-0 with 10:30 to play in the third.

Kienzle connected with Cook on a 9-yard scoring toss seven seconds into the fourth quarter to end a seven-play, 52-yard march, and then capped the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown toss to Benson with 2:49 to play.

That scoring strike came at the end of a 10-play, 52-yard drive and gave the Roughnecks the 35-0 win.

White Oak will visit Jefferson, and Redwater treks to Hughes Springs next Friday.
