West Rusk scored two touchdowns within 27 seconds in the first quarter en route to a 37-14 win over the All Saints Trojans on Friday at Mewbourne Field.
The Raiders improved to 2-0, while All Saints falls to 0-2.
LaJavius Harper accounted for four touchdowns - three passing and one rushing.
Jaylon Garland led the Raiders with 114 yards rushing and a TD. Kevin Jones had five catches for 120 yards and three touchdowns.
Tanner Towns led the Trojans with 127 yards rushing and a TD. Dalton Hayes had five catches for 77 yards.
West Rusk took a quick 13-0 lead when Harper hit Jones with a 22-yard TD pass at 7:54 of the first quarter. Jose Cerda booted the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
Just 27 seconds later, Garland bulled in from the two. The Trojans blocked the PAT.
At 4:23 of the first, the Trojans got on the board as Garrett Brown scored from the one. Russell Wynne kicked the extra point and All Saints was within 13-7 with 4:23 showing.
West Rusk tacked on another TD in the first quarter as Harper scored on a 6-yard dash. The try for two on a run failed as the Raiders led 19-7.
The Raiders scored the only TD in the second quarter as Harper connected with Jones for a 26-yard touchdown pass. The extra point kick failed and WR led 25-7 at halftime.
DeVonta Medford scored from the two with 7:53 showing in the third as West Rusk went up 31-7. The extra-point try failed.
The Trojans got back on the board with 9:21 to go in the fourth as Towns connected with Hayes for a 23-yard TD pass. Wynne added the PAT as All Saints pulled within 31-14.
With seven minutes remaining, Harper hit Jones with a 28-yard TD pass. The kick failed to bring the final score to 37-14.
West Rusk plays host to Sabine Sept. 9 at Bruce Bradshaw Stadium in New London, while All Saints travels to Alba to take on the Alba-Golden Panthers the same night. Both games have 7:30 p.m. kickoffs scheduled.
