NEW LONDON - It was a record-setting night for West Rusk running back Jaylon Garland.

Garland set school records with 385 yards rushing and six touchdowns in leading the Raiders to a 72-20 victory over New Diana at Bruce Bradshaw Stadium.

Garland did all that on just 12 carries. Devanta Medford helped out as well with 179 yards and three touchdowns on 11 attempts.

Garland scored on runs of 2, 52, 32, 93, 84 and 5 yards.

Medford scored on runs of 12, 24 and 50 yards. Other WR TDs were from Kevin Jones on a pass from L.J. Harper and a 36-yard punt return.

West Rusk (4-0) has a bye next week before beginning District 9-3A Division II play against Troup on Sept. 30 in New London.

New Diana (1-3) opens District 7-3A Division II play at De Kalb next Friday.
