Tyler Lee’s boys basketball team picked up two wins in the Coppell Tournament on Friday.
The Red Raiders opened the day with a 68-50 victory over San Antonio Clark and then defeated Katy Taylor 79-77 in overtime.
Devin Johnson and Jamal Jones led Lee with 14 points each in the win over Clark. Kameron Ross had 7 points, and Xavier Hunter scored 6 points.
Lee led 17-13 at the end of the first quarter, 33-16 at halftime and 52-32 after three quarters.
Against Taylor, Lee led 29-16 after the first quarter, 39-33 at halftime and 51-48 after three quarters. The game was tied at 69-all after regulation.
Johnson led the Red Raiders with 26 points. Jones had 15 points, Jaiden Pinson 14 points and Landry Simmons with 8 points.
Lee (3-1) will play two games in the tournament on Saturday. The Red Raiders will take on Class 6A No. 2 South Garland — led by 5-star Kentucky signee Tyrese Maxey — at 2 p.m. and Arlington Lamar at 5 p.m.
The Lady Raiders went 2-2 during the first two days of the Allen Tournament.
Lee defeated Wylie (41-24) and Frisco Memorial (38-34) and lost to Frisco Liberty (44-36) and Allen (58-33).
Against Frisco Liberty, freshman Alliyah Campbell led the Lady Raiders with 11 points.
Against Wylie, Alyssia Thorne had 10 points, and Campbell and Aaliyah Morgan had 9 points each.
Against Allen, Thorne scored a team-high 9 points, and Morgan had 7 points.
Against Frisco Memorial, Thorne poured in 20 points, and Morgan added 10 points.
Lee (3-3) will continue in the Allen Tournament on Saturday.
