JACKSONVILLE — The Tyler Junior College soccer teams opened Region XIV conference play on Tuesday with victories against Jacksonville College at the Jaguars’ soccer field.

In the first match, the Apache Ladies scored a 9-2 win over the Lady Jaguars.

Lacee Blakeley, Tricia Gould and Renata Inniss each scored two goals for TJC.

TJC improved to 2-1 on the season. The Apache Ladies play host to Cedar Valley at 7 p.m. Thursday at Pat Hartley Field.

The Lady Jaguars (1-2) play host to East Texas Baptist at 6 p.m. Friday.

In the men’s game, TJC scored a 6-0 win. Nazeem Bartman had a hat trick for the Apaches, while Fernando Castellanos, Fernando Arellano and Martin Agredo each added goals.

Yaw Amankwa, Arellano and Connor Adamson had an assist apiece.

The Apaches (2-0) stay on the road, traveling to Dallas to meet Richland at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Jaguars (0-1-1) meet ETBU at 8 p.m. Friday in Jacksonville.

The TJC Apache Ladies volleyball team plays tonight at Wagstaff Gymnasium. The contest with Paris is scheduled for 7 p.m.
