GARLAND - Sergio Saucedo scored two of Robert E. Lee’s four second-half goals as the Red Raiders routed Garland 4-0 on Wednesday night at Williams Stadium.

Facing a 20 mph wind in the first half, Lee (5-4-2) kept the game scoreless before utilizing mother nature in the second half.

Saucedo scored eight minutes after halftime and again two minutes later, both on through balls. The first came from cousin Nathan Saucedo while Daniel Vergara supplied the second assist.

With 24 minutes to play, Alex Ruben joined in on the scoring, with Vergara again providing the defense-unlocking through ball.

Nathan Saucedo sealed the deal with a 40-yard blast with four minutes to play.

“I thought we played real well,” Lee coach Marty Germany said. “We played probably our most disciplined game all year.

“Today was good to see everybody work hard and do their job and help out.”

Anthony Pirtle was in goal for the shutout for the Red Raiders, who return home to host North Garland on Friday.
