The team of Eitel Hahn, Galloway Calhoun, Jim Watkins and Reggie Howell won the Seventh Annual Kyle Lake Memorial Golf Tournament held May 6 at The Cascades Golf Club, committee chairman, Jim Rex announced.

The squad had a score of 53. The second and third place squads were chosen from a drawing.

The tournament, which is held each year in memory of Kyle Lake, was sponsored by Landmark Title, Inc. and the Kyle Lake Foundation. Proceeds of the fundraising event go to the non-profit foundation and are used for Christian and charitable purposes.

The Foundation, since the fall of 2009, has awarded more than 42 scholarships to students, as well as being a supporter of other Christian ministries and charities. It has sponsored Christian seminars and provided financial assistance to ministries for at-risk children and been a substantial contributor to many church plantings. It has also contributed to Kids Across America, The Children’s Advocacy Center, Royal Family Kids Camps, Doulos Discovery School, Parent’s Anonymous, Family Legacy Ministries, and has provided defibrillators to various local and area churches.

The Foundation has also established an annual Kyle Lake Memorial Soccer Camp for children entering first through ninth grades and is attended by more than 100 youth each summer. This year the camp will be held July 15-18 at First Baptist Church’s South Campus, with many licensed area coaches participating. For more information, please go to www.kylelake.org.

This year’s tournament included a luncheon, and the presentation of a defibrillator to Rev. Jerome Milton on behalf of Greater New Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

There were 31 four-member teams. Rex also gave thanks to the golf committee and the volunteers who worked very hard to make the tournament successful. Members of the 2013 Kyle Lake Golf Committee were: Gary Adams, Carl Barron, Jimmy Clark, Bill Coates, Richard Davis, Marty Dunbar, Dick Ellis, Bill Hillyer, David Lake, Jody Lake, Jona Lake, Shirley Lake, Jim Rex, Ryan Rex, Scott Richardson and Deanna Sims.
