Pump Jacks win fourth straight

Backed by a strong pitching performance and a 12-hit attack, the East Texas Pump Jacks won their fourth straight game Sunday night at UT Tyler's Irwin Field.

The Pump Jacks (11-9) scored a 4-3 victory over the Texas Marshals (3-17).

The East Texas squad is off Monday and will travel to Lafayette, Louisiana, to meet the Acadiana Cane Cutters on Tuesday. The Pump Jacks' next home game is Thursday against the Victoria Generals.

On Sunday, starting pitcher Tristen Pendley (2-1) hurled seven strong innings, allowing just six hits and two runs. Jimmy Johnson pitched the eighth and allowed only a hit, while striking out one.

Tyler Adams got his seventh save despite giving up two hits and a run in in the ninth.

Dylan Mecham and Alex Bell had doubles for the Pump Jacks.

Anthony Donovan, Mecham, Tyler Moore and James Lear each had two hits.

T.J. Friedl, Weston Pitts, Bell and Tristan Clarke had one hit apiece.

Lear stole his 21st base this season.
