Rangers winter caravan

Two members of the Texas Rangers baseball team will be visiting Tyler on Wednesday.

Pitchers Jesse Chavez and Nick Goody will be at Whataburger, 1739 S. Beckham Ave. (75701) from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The players will be signing free autographs.

Chavez, a native of San Gabriel, California, was 3-5 last year with a 4.85 ERA. The 36-year-old from Riverside City College appeared in 48 games, starting nine. Chavez, who had one save, had 72 strikeouts in 78 innings of work.

Goody was 3-2 in 2019 with a 3.54 ERA. The 28-year-old appeared in 39 games, all in relief. The native of Orlando, Florida who attended LSU had 50 strikeouts in 40⅔ innings of pitching.
