Adrian Peterson, the Palestine native and NFL running back, and his foundation are donating $100,000 to help feed students and senior citizens in the Houston area.

The Adrian & Ashley Peterson Family Foundation (@AAPFFoundation) tweeted, "In our efforts to battle the COVID-19 outbreak in our hometown of Houston, we are donating $100,000 to further aid and support senior citizens and students. We encourage everyone who is capable to pay it forward and help those in this critical time of need."

Peterson was a star running back at Palestine High School, the University of Oklahoma and in the NFL. He has played with the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals and currently the Washington Redskins.

He established the foundation, "To improve quality of life through resources and economic development, as well as, transform communities through educational and economical empowerment."
