HARMONY - Heath Hood had a hand in eight touchdowns on Friday, leading the No. 7 ranked White Oak to a 55-34 win over No. 8 Harmony in a battle of unbeaten teams at Eagle Stadium.

Hood rushed for three touchdowns, threw four TD passes and caught a touchdown pass as White Oak improved to 5-0 on the year.

Barrett Hill rushed for three touchdowns in the loss for Harmony.

Hood put White Oak on the board at the 10:18 mark of the first quarter when he capped a five-play, 49-yard drive wit ha 2-yard run.

Harmony countered with a 1-yard run from quarterback Spencer Seahorn, adding the two-pointer and taking an 8-7 lead with 8:04 left in the initial quarter.

Hood’s 29-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Castiglione moved White Oak back on top briefly, but Seahorn crashed in from the 2-yard line just three minutes later and Harmony led 16-14.

A reverse pass from Kason Kienzle to Hood covered 16 yards for the score to move White Oak back in front 21-16, and the Roughnecks took that lead in at halftime after a scoreless second quarter.

Midway through the third, Hood scored on an 8-yard run to extend White Oak’s lead to 28-16, but Hill rambled 47 yards for a touchdown to cut the deficit to 28-22 after a blocked extra point.

A Hood-to-Kienzle scoring strike of 24 yards made it a 35-22 White Oak lead, and after Hill raced 31 yards for a TD to cut the deficit to 35-28 the Roughnecks scored three quick touchdowns to put the contest away.

Hood’s 22-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Young was followed by a 15-yard strike from Hood to Max Kutch and a 2-yard run by Hood to put the Roughnecks in front 55-28 with 5:01 to play.

Hill’s 69-yard run capped the scoring and made the final 55-34.

Both teams are idle next week.
