PLANO - Led by Sky’lynn Holmes and Autumn Avina, the No. 10 Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies stayed unbeaten with a 76-69 win over Collin County College on Friday in the Collin Women’s Basketball Classic.

TJC (7-0) will play Seminole State (Oklahoma) at noon Saturday during the second day of the Classic.

Holmes, a freshman who starred at Pine Tree, led the Apache Ladies with 15 points, Avina, a sophomore from Round Rock, added 12 points. Ann Nwosah, a sophomore from Houston, pitched in 10 points.

TJC outscored the Lady Cougars 27-15 in the third quarter to take control. Holmes had nine points in the quarter.

Alexis Johnson and Micayla Buckner led the Lady Cougars (7-2) with 18 points apiece. Taylor Jackson had 17 points while former Robert E. Lee Lady Raider Tree Brooks had four points.
