MINEOLA — Jade Green and Morgan Catron belted home runs to lead Mineola to a 5-2 victory over Brownsboro on Friday in a District 15-3A softball game.

Rikkilyn Hass (14-5) allowed just two runs on five hits as the Lady Jackets improved to 16-8 overall and 7-2 in district play.

With the Lady Jackets holding a 3-1 lead, the squad scored two key runs in the sixth inning.

With runners at second and third, Hannah McKinney squeezed in Green for a 4-1 advantage. An overthrow allowed Catron to score.

Green had two hits, including the two-run homer. Catron’s was a solo shot, while Manda Wilmoth (2 for 4) and Kassy Skinner had doubles for the Lady Jackets.

Mineola plays host to Canton on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
