GRAND SALINE — After a dominant performance in Game 1 of the Class 3A Region II championship softball series, Henderson pitcher Tiarra Davis looked like a different person on Friday night.

The North Lamar Pantherettes took advantage of six walks and lit up Davis for six hits en route to a 6-1 victory in Game 2 Friday night to keep their state championship hopes alive.

A decisive Game 3 is set to be played at 2 p.m. today at the same location.

Henderson was shut out offensively for five innings before a two-out triple by Davis set up Alison Waggoner’s RBI single to put the Lady Lions on the board.

Taylor White and Tessa Thomas both reached with one out away in the top of the seventh, but a strikeout and a routine fly ball to short ended any hopes of a Henderson rally.
