SOUTHLAKE - The Robert E. Lee girls soccer team had the unenviable task of opening its season against the top-ranked team in the nation.

Southlake Carroll showed why it received that ranking, scoring two goals in the first half and adding four more in the second half to blank the Lady Raiders 6-0 Thursday in their opener at the Elite Prep National Showcase.

Lee (0-1) will try to regroup Friday with matches scheduled against Colleyville Heritage at 10 a.m. and Lubbock Monterey at 4 p.m. Both will be held at Dallas Gateway School.
