KILGORE — No. 10 Kilgore College scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to take down eighth-ranked Navarro College 45-25 on Saturday night at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.
Both scores came on special teams and defense.
The Rangers' Joe Herrick returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown with 6:03 remaining, before James Jones returned an interception 49 yards for a touchdown with 3:15 to go.
Kilgore quarterback Tanner Tausch completed 19 of 35 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns.
Navarro running back Traylon Shead, a Cayuga native, finished with 16 carries for 119 yards and four touchdowns.
Bulldogs quarterback Stump Godfrey, a Gilmer native, completed 11 of 32 for 151 yards with an interception.
