FRANKSTON — The Frankston Indians picked up an important district win over the Union Grove Lions, 48-8, as the Indians celebrated homecoming on Friday night at Austin Stadium.
Quarterback Ozzie Buckner accounted for 4 of the Indians' touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) and had more than 250 yards in total offense. Junior running back Caleb Williams rushed for 121 yards and two TDs on nine carries.
The Indians led 14-8 at halftime and exploded for 34 points in the second half. Defensively, Frankston kept the Lions out of the end zone and surrendered only two first downs in the half. Wideout Kendrick Rogers hauled in two touchdown receptions to pace the Indians.
With the victory, Frankston's record improved to 2-3. Union Grove dropped to 2-4.
