WHITEHOUSE — The Whitehouse Wildcats bested the Bullard Panthers for the second Saturday in-a-row, with a 6-3 win at Wildcat Field in a non-district matchup.
Patrick Mahomes paced the Wildcats, going 2 for 4 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Rex Swinney added two singles and two RBIs for Whitehouse.
Whitehouse pitcher Cody Davis pitched six strong innings, striking out five while walking five and giving up five hits.
Jesse Duplechin belted a home run for the Panthers. Teammate Taylor McIntyre added a double.
The Wildcats took a 1-0 first-inning lead as Jake Parker singled in Aaron Clements. Whitehouse went up 4-0 in the fifth as Mahomes doubled and came home on Eric Munoz’s single. Swinney later plated Jared Raabe.
After Duplechin’s homer in the top of the sixth, the Wildcats added a pair in the bottom of the inning as Mahomes tripled in two runs for a 6-1 lead.
In the top of the seventh, Bullard scored two runs, including Jess Wood on Holden Bryant’s sacrifice fly.
