John Tyler 3, Center 0

CENTER — The John Tyler Lady Lions won their five straight match, a 3-0 win over Center on Friday in a non-district volleyball match.

JT (19-9) won 25-10, 25-17, 25-9.

Standouts for JT were Kassity McKenzie (6 kills), Makia Moon (12 serves, 1 ace, 7 kills, 11 receptions, 5 digs), Symone Morris (5 serves, 6 kills, 8 receptions, 4 digs) and Treasure Coleman (8 serves, 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 dig).

In JV action JT won 2-1 (16-25, 25-15, 25-23). The Lady Lions won the freshmen game, 2-0 (25-21, 25-23).

The Lady Lions are scheduled to play at Lindale at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Lindale sweeps Quitman

LINDALE — Lindale’s Lady Eagles won at all levels Friday night at home against Quitman. The varsity defeated the Lady Bulldogs in three sets to bring their record to 16-11.

Marleigh Thurman stepped up with solid serve receive and defensive effort. Liz Hutchens and Skylar Wyllie were instrumental on the attack for the Lady Eagles.

On Saturday, the freshmen Lady Eagles brought home a third-place finish in the Quitman Junior Varsity Tournament. Lindale defeated All Saints in three sets, lost to Edgewood and finished the day with a win over Van. Brooke Tweedell had 11 kills, four blocks and four aces. Bailey Wood had eight kills and three blocks. Keatyn Bills added eight kills and four aces. Mary Ann Hicks contributed five kills, three aces and Kennedy Weesner had four kills, six aces.

Setters Eva Yates had 14 assists and Hannah Morris had eight. Gwen May played solid defense for the Lady Eagles.

Grace 3, Mineola 0

MINEOLA — The Grace Community scored a 3-0 win over Mineola on Thursday night in a volleyball match.

The Lady Cougars won 25-14, 25-17, 25-13.

Maddie Rutherford led Grace with eight kills and five blocks. Other top players were Gabrielle Manziel (7 kills), Sophia Ramirez (6 kills), Rebekah Sutton (5 kills, 9 digs), Ann Olson (20 digs), Lilly Morris (9 digs), Riley Rayzor (7 digs) and Ella Wupperman (7 digs).

The Lady Cougars return home on Tuesday to meet Nacogdoches and Tyler HEAT.

All Saints 3, Bishop Gorman 0

In matchup of Tyler Loop 323 rivals, All Saints downed Bishop Gorman 3-0 on Thursday in a volleyball match at Brookshire Gym.

The Lady Trojans won 25-16, 25-11, 25-16.

Coach Amanda Dimon complimented the play of Madeline Perkins and Sarah Jordan.

The Lady Trojans will host Bullard Brook Hill on Tuesday and Grace Community on Thursday.

Chapel Hill 3, Bishop Gorman 0

NEW CHAPEL HILL — The Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs defeated the Bishop Gorman Lady Crusaders 3-0 on Friday.

CH won 25-21, 25-23, 25-22.

Leading the Lady Bulldogs were Kamry Wages (5 aces, 6 kills, 4 digs), Jayla Herndon (6 aces) and Mariah Boswell (9 digs).

Chapel Hill is scheduled to play at Gilmer on Friday, Sept. 13.

Bullard 3, Pine Tree 0

LONGVIEW — The Bullard Lady Panthers swept the Pine Tree Lady Pirates on Friday in a non-district volleyball match.

Bullard (23-5) won 25-13, 25-16, 25-10.

Leaders for Bullard were Sara McKeethan (12 kills, 10 digs), Keili Richmond (10 kills, 9 digs), Kylie McKeethan (16 assists, 6 digs), Libby Eitel (13 assists, 6 digs), Sarah Lewinski (4 kills, 4 blocks) and Haley Day (4 kills, 4 kills, 4 blocks).

Bullard also won the JV (25-5, 25-15) and freshmen (25-16, 25-8) matches.

The Lady Panthers are scheduled to play at Rusk at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Longview 3, White Oak 1

LONGVIEW — Sarah Frederick (16) and Elajiah Hatley (15) combined for 31 assists, Laci Lewis and Miah Colbert recorded eight kills apiece and the Longview Lady Lobos notched a 25-22, 25-19, 15-25, 25-20 win over White Oak.

Hatley also recorded seven digs and three aces for the Lady Lobos. Lewis finished with seven digs and four aces, Colbert seven digs, LaDeja George five kills, four blocks and two digs, Angell Evans 14 digs and two aces, Alana Byrdsong four kills and Jakayla Morrow five kills.

Emma Hill finished with 16 assists and five digs in the loss for White Oak. Lexi Baker added eight kills, seven digs and four aces, Kaylee Wilkinson three kills and seven digs, Stormy Riley six digs, Anna Iske six kills, Macy Weeks 13 digs, Payton Palmer two kills, Daphne Bogenschutz a kill and a dig and Ashlyn Eynon four kills.

Harmony 3, Spring Hill 0

HARMONY — McKinzee Settles dominated at the net with 12 kills and nine blocks, and the Harmony Lady Eagles swept past Spring Hill 25-15, 25-17, 25-16.

Jenci Seahorn added seven kills and two blocks for Harmony, which also got six kills from Spencer Watkins, 16 assists from Aleah Daily, 12 assists and four digs from Delaynie Nash and two kills and two aces from Kaylee Clemens.

Maci Plunk recorded six assists, six digs, four kills and three aces in the loss for Spring Hill. Ansley Nichols recorded two kills, Sam Schott two assists, 10 digs and two aces, A’Zaria Jones four kills and three digs, Molly Seale a team-leading seven kills to go along with three aces, Caylee Mayfield two kills and Amirah Alexander six assists.

Carthage 3, Texarkana Pleasant Grove 0

CARTHAGE — Kristen Stewart and Sadie Smith combined for 30 assists, Cami Hicks ripped 10 kills and the No. 8 ranked Carthage Lady Bulldogs earned a 25-16, 25-20, 25-11 sweep of Pleasant Grove.

Hicks added four blocks and four aces, Jada McLinn eight kills and Faith Kruebbe seven kills. Stewart led with 19 assists, adding eight digs, and Smith finished with 11 assists. Chesney Baker recorded 10 digs.

Gilmer 3, New Diana 0

GILMER — Gilmer swept past New Diana, 25-11, 25-10, 25-19 on Friday.

Delaney Wilson finished with seven kills, Kirsten Waller five and Maddy Tate four, while Alexis Mathis handed out 14 assists and Waller fired off six aces. Lele Morton led with 16 digs. Alex Chamberlain added seven digs, and Haylee Jordan recorded four blocks.

Big Sandy 3, Longview Christian School 2

BIG SANDY Airikah Pippins swatted 17 kills, Lizzie Worden handed out 24 assists and the Big Sandy Lady Wildcats earned a 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 25-11 win over Longview Christian School.

Gracie Jenison added eight kills and four digs, Chyler Ponder four kills and two digs, Jakayla Johnson three digs and two aces, Peyton Adams nine digs and three acs and Macie Childress two aces and three digs.

Pippins (19-19), Ponder (7-7), Adams (11-11) and Childress (7-7) were all perfect from the service line.

Hawkins 3, Alba-Golden 1

HAWKINS — Logan Jaco led the way with 15 kills, Morgan Jaco added seven blocks and the Hawkins Lady Hawks rallied for a 20-25, 25-10, 5-23, 28-26 win over Alba-Golden.

Makena Warren added nine kills for Hawkins. Alyssa Eddington had 13 assists, Lynli Dacus 10 assists, Warren five blocks, Eddington eight digs and Jordyn Warren seven digs.
