MANSFIELD — The Tyler Lee Lady Raiders dropped three matches on Thursday in the Mansfield Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Raiders opened the day with a setback to Mansfield Legacy (21-25, 18-25).
Hope Casel lead Lee with six kills and six digs. Anasha Martin had 14 digs. Anna Stone had seven digs. Claire Trosclair had three kills. Semira Udosen and Karrington Wise had two kills each.
The Lady Raiders then fell to Waxahachie (19-25, 14-25).
Casel finished with 10 digs and three kills. Kemyiia Johnson also had three kills. Trosclair had eight digs.
The Lady Raiders fell to El Paso Eastwood in the final match of the day (23-25, 23-25).
Casel had six kills and six digs. Jamia Hutton had seven digs. Trosclair had 14 digs and five kills. Martin added nine digs and four aces.
Lee (1-3) will continue play in the Mansfield Volleyball Tournament on Friday.
LAIRD HILL — Pool play began on Thursday in the Leverett’s Chapel Lady Lions Volleyball Invitational.
Results in Pool A included: Hawkins defeating Longview Trinity School of Texas 2-0 (25-20, 25-23), Union Hill 2-0 (25-18,. 25-9) and Linden-Kildare 2-0 (25-14, 25-12); Trinity downing Linden-Kildare 2-1 (16-25, 27-25, 15-11) and Union Hill 2-1 (23-25, 25-17, 17-15; and Linden-Kildare winning over Union Hill 2-0 (25-18, 25-13).
Results in Pool B included: Leverett’s Chapel defeating Longview Christian Heritage 2-0 (25-14, 25-10) and Longview Christian School 2-0 (25-16, 25-16); Longview HEAT winning over Longview Christian School 2-0 (25-10, 25-12), Leverett’s Chapel 2-0 (25-16, 25-11) and Longview Christian Heritage 2-0 (25-18, 24-14); and Longview Christian Heritage downing Longview Christian School 2-0 (25-15, 25-19).
Outstanding players for Leverett’s Chapel were: Jillian Shaw (9 kills, 3 blocks, 16 digs, 11 aces); Lexus Haley (4 kills, 13 digs, 25 assists, 4 aces); Michelle Jamaica (8 kills, 28 digs, 7 aces); Katie Hughes (22 digs, 3 aces); and Ashilia Smith (10 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces).
The Lady Lions advanced to the Gold Bracket play on Saturday along with Longview HEAT, Hawkins and Trinity School of Texas.
Bracket play will begin with the first game at 8 a.m. Saturday.
