TEXARKANA - Cade Pearson passed for 185 yards and three touchdowns, and Texas High jumped out to a big lead early en route to a 44-0 win over the Kilgore Bulldogs on Friday at Tiger Stadium at Grim Park.

Texas High, now 4-0 for the first time since 2006, will open district play at Marshall on Friday. Kilgore, 1-3, will return home to host Palestine.

Quan Hampton caught four passes for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Tigers. Tevailance Hunt added two catches for 96 yards and a touchdown.

Kilgore managed 88 total yards offensively - 70 on the ground on 28 attempts and 18 passing yards. Jay Copeland completed 3 of 5 passes for 17 yards. Cole Wood had two catches for 17 yards, and Melek Hamilton added 28 rushing yards on 11 carries for the Bulldogs.

Texas High, which scored on seven of eight possessions, got on the board at the 7:58 mark of the first quarter on a 15-yard run by Devuntay Walker.

The Tigers added two more scores before the quarter ended on a 68-yard pass from Pearson to Hampton and a 55-yard strike from Pearson to Hunt.

Pearson's 8-yard scoring pass to Hunt with 5:08 to play in the second was followed by a 1-yard run by Markese Martin with 1:09 to play to give the homestanding Tigers a comfortable 35-0 halftime lead.

Isidro Hernandez booted a 37-yard field goal for the Tigers in the thid period, and Chris Sutton capped the scoring with a 4-yard run with 2:13 showing on the clock to make the final 44-0.
