The Brook Hill Lady Guard are advancing to the TAPPS 5A state volleyball tournament for the

first time.

The Brook Hill Lady Guard are heading to their first volleyball state tournament and the school and community will give them a sendoff on Friday.

The Brook Hill cheerleaders, cadets, drumline and the middle and upper school students will gather to wish them good luck at 10:20 a.m. on The Brook Hill School campus in Bullard.

Brook Hill, the TAPPS 3-5A district champion, has won 12 straight matches.

Team members include: junior Kensi Holley, junior Anna Hardee, sophomore Mollee McCurley, senior Laurel Reed, senior Katherine Mondrik, junior Emily Livesay, sophomore Allyson Juarez, junior Lexi Turner, senior Natalie Travis, junior Mary Elizabeth Roberts, sophomore Belle Reed, sophomore Anna Conner, sophomore Sarah Sims, freshman Callie Bailey and freshman Ella Denson.

Sonorah Duty is head coach of the Lady Guard. Her assistant coaches are Lindsey Flores, Paige Holland and Lauren Sikes.

The TAPPS 5A State Tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at West High School.

Brook Hill (21-6-3) will face Carrollton Prince of Peace (34-3) in the state semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday.

The other semifinal has San Antonio Christian (30-15) meeting San Antonio Holy Cross (33-15-2) at 3:30 p.m.

The semifinal winners advance to the state title game at 10 a.m. Saturday at WHS.
