BULLARD — White Oak came out early and dominated Bullard in the first quarter on the way to a 35-14 victory on Friday night at Panther Stadium.
The Roughnecks took a 21-0 cushion in the first quarter the Panthers could never recover.
The Roughnecks led off with three first quarter scores, scoring two on the ground and on a 64-yard scoring strike from quarterback Dylan Gale.
Roughnecks running back Riley Larkin ran in from 8 yards to open the scoring.
Jason McCurdy hauled in Gale pass for the second score and Gale scored on a 1-yard plunge to cap the quarter.
Larkin would score again in the second quarter for a 28-0 lead.
Bullard got on the scoreboard in the third quarter when quarterback Conner Mebane finished off a 68-yard drive with a 6-yard scoring run.
The Panthers scored again in the fourth quarter when Austin Skelton scored on a 61-yard run.
The Bullard defense made some halftime adjustments that kept White Oak out of the end zone until the final quarter. After racking up 207 yards of offense in the first half, the Roughnecks were held to 50 yards and a lone TD in the final two quarters.
The Panthers (1-1) will host Diboll for homecoming this next Friday night. White Oak (2-0), will match up in a big rivalry with Spring Hill.
