BROWNSBORO - The Spring Hill Panthers pulled away from the Brownsboro Bears in the fourth quarter to score a 40-28 win Friday night at Bear Stadium.
The Bears led 22-20 entering the fourth quarter, but the Panthers rallied for the win.
Spring Hill took a 7-0 lead when Dayson Adaway hit Ryan Willis on a 44-yard TD pass. Efren Barcenas made the extra point.
Brownsboro tied the game at 7-7 in the second as Jamal Bell tossed a 35-yard TD pass to Jake Conner. Luis Suarez booted the PAT.
The Panthers bounced back for a 14-7 halftime lead as Zach Tulpa dashed 24-yards for a score. Barcenas made the PAT.
In the third quarter, Kevion Ross scored on a 1-yard run and Suarez’s PAT tied the game at 14-14.
Brownsboro then took a 16-14 lead as Caleb Magness tackled Adaway in the end zone for a safety.
The Bears then made it 22-14 as Bell hit Kenneth Woods for a 20-yard score. However, the PAT failed.
The Panthers pulled within 22-20 as Adaway rushed into the end zone from two yards. The try for two failed.
Spring Hill took a 26-22 to begin the fourth quarter as Daryn Beck scored on a 27-yard dash. The try for two failed.
The Bears went back on top 28-26 as Ross bulled his way in from the one. The PAT failed.
Beck scored on a 66-yard run and Adaway added the two-point conversion for a Panther lead of 34-28.
On the last play of the game, Adaway scored on a 99-yard run for the final of 40-28.
