WINONA — The Simms Bowie Pirates marched into Winona and took care of business against the Winona Wildcats, hammering them 41-7 at Wildcat Stadium in Winona.
The Pirates were led by Senior quarterback Bradley Crumpton, who had 156 yards rushing on six carries including two touchdowns and completed three of five pass attempts for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Crumpton also scored two rushing touchdowns, one 71 yards and another 75 yards scamper in the fourth quarter where he eluded several would be tacklers on his way to the end zone.
Winona could not get any rhythm going and finished the night with 11 penalties for 85 yards and turned the ball over three times, two fumbles and an interception.
With a 21-7 lead at halftime, Simms Bowie (1-1) picked back up where they left off in the first half taking their opening possession using six plays for 68 yards, capping the drive with a Pistolis touchdown from nine yards out.
Winona (0-2) will look to get in the win column next week when it travels to Harleton.
