PALESTINE — The Fairfield Eagles ran seemingly at will, and Palestine could never muster a key stop as the Wildcats fell to Fairfield, 33-27, Friday at Wildcat Stadium.

Fairfield ran for 397 yards on the night, including every play of a 99-yard drive that took the game from a 27-20 game with 16 seconds to play in the third quarter to a 33-20 contest with half of the fourth quarter gone. Quarterback Aaron Cain capped the drive with a 1-yard dive on fourth-and-goal to score the touchdown.

That drive effectively ended Palestine’s chances at a comeback, despite the Wildcats’ driving for a score that cut the lead to 33-27 three minutes later when Donte Brown ran in from 5 yards out.
