Mark Robbins is the new tennis coach at Bishop Gorman Catholic School, Mike Lee, Bishop Gorman director of athletics, announced on Monday.
Robbins, the former Jacksonville College athletic director and head tennis coach, is a certified tennis teaching professional through the United States Professional Tennis Association, which is the oldest and largest association of tennis-teaching professionals. He has been certified through the USPTA for 23 years.
"Coach Robbins brings a unique and creative approach to the game of tennis and has had much success with
his programs, players and teams throughout East Texas for many years now," Lee said.
Seven of Robbins' Jaguar teams reached the NJCAA National Tournament.
"Coach Robbins is looking forward to continuing to build upon the success of the Gorman tennis program,
which finished the 2019 season with nine players competing in the TAPPS state tournament," Lee said. "Robbins believes
that life must be Christ-centered in family, work, school and sports."
Robbins and his wife, Jamie, have a son, Preston.
