KAUFMAN — Trey Acy scored three touchdowns and Clay Price added two more as the Lindale Eagles steamrolled the Kaufman Lions 49-13 in a non-district game Friday.
The Eagles, ranked No. 9 in Class 3A, jumped out to a 20-0 first-quarter lead on scoring runs of 5 and 15 yards by Price, and a 2-yard carry by Acy.
Lindale (4-0) scored two more in the second quarter on a 5-yard run by Alex Cardenas and a 6-yard carry by Acy for a 35-0 halftime lead.
The Lions finally found the end zone in the third quarter on a 74-yard run by JeMikal Jobe, only to have the Eagles come right back with an 86-yard kickoff return by Erin Smith for a 42-7 lead.
Lindale gave up another long touchdown in the fourth on an 87-yard run by the Lions Clay Rhodes.
Acy closed out the scoring for the Eagles on a 2-yard touchdown run.
Lindale entertains No. 1 Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the final non-district game for both teams.
