TEXARKANA — Robert E. Lee will enter district play on a hot streak as the Lady Raiders took down Pleasant Grove in three games Tuesday.
The Lady Raiders (19-11) defeated the Lady Hawks, 25-23, 25-10, 25-20, to capture their third win in a row.
“It was some good competition and we are going to carry that into district,” said REL coach Melissa Lee. “I think this was a good warmup for us.”
Lee opens District 11-5A action at home against North Mesquite. The match is slated for 7 p.m. Friday at REL Varsity Gymnasium.
Kalloway Hudson (17 assists, five kills) and Mallory Kuechle (18 kills, 12 digs) paced the Lady Raiders in Tuesday’s triumph at Pleasant Grove. Also leading the way on the stat sheet were Rachel Johnston (six kills), Melissa Menard (13 assists) and Ashley Jovanovich (eight digs).
In the junior varsity match, Lee defeated PG in three games, 25-15, 23-25, 25-15. The Lady Raiders swept the freshmen matches with White winning 25-16, 25-16 and Red winning 25-20, 25-21.
