JEFFERSON — Deion Williams needed just 10 carries to do his damage on Friday, rushing for 241 yards and scoring four times as the Jefferson Bulldogs rolled to a 54-0 District 9-2A Division I win over the Sabine Cardinals.
After Tauron Mitchell scored on a 2-yard run early in the contest to put Jefferson in front 6-0, Williams went on a tear. He scored on a 72-yard run in the first quarter and added scoring jaunts of 10 and 58 yards in the second period. Dennis Wilson’s 75-yard fumble return for a score made it 33-0 at the half.
Williams added a 35-yard scoring jaunt in the third for the Bulldogs (3-3, 1-1), and Mitchell scored on a 1-yard run before Devin Hodge capped the scoring with a 42-yard fumble return in the fourth quarter.
Qwaylen Chumley had 26 carries for 139 yards for Sabine (0-6, 0-1).
