Bishop Gorman pitcher Katelin Jacobi delivered a no-hitter as the Lady Crusaders honored their seniors with a 13-1 win over Carrollton Prince of Peace Thursday afternoon.

Before the game, Angela Carney and Sarah Kent received applause for the Senior Recognition Game.

Jacobi then went to work, striking out seven to help Gorman move to 4-5 in TAPPS 2-4A. Prince of Peace scored an unearned run on the first inning.

Rebecca Waters doubled twice and both Emily Kent and Carleigh Powers each singled twice in the victory.

Kingsley leads Grace past Dallas Parish Episcopal, 10-1

Taylor Kingsley was 3 for 4 at the plate and had four strikeouts in the circle as the Grace Community Lady Cougars downed Dallas Parish Episcopal 10-1 Thursday in a TAPPS 2-4A softball game.

Kingsley had two singles and a double with two RBIs.

Others supplying hits for the Lady Cougars were Kylie Stanley (double, triple, RBI), Chelsea Clark (single, two RBIs) and Hannah Wright (single, triple, RBI).

The Lady Cougars put the game away in the bottom of the fifth with Kingsley driving in two with a single, followed by Wright's RBI single and Clark's two-RBI single.

Chipping in an RBI apiece were Fallon Roberts, Candice West and Sarah Smith.

Lady Jackets secure 16th straight district title

PRICE — Alto clinched its 16th consecutive district title Thursday with a 12-1 victory over Carlisle.

Alyssa Duplichain turned in four RBIs on two hits to lead the Lady Jackets (20-3, 12-0) to the District 21-1A championship.

Madison Crisp struck out four while allowing one run on three hits and five walks to pick up the win in the circle.

Alto, which began playing softball in 1995, has won district every year since 1999. During that span, the Lady Jackets have reached the state final four times, winning the Class 2A title in 1999.

Alto will next play a warm-up game before the playoffs against an opponent to be determined.

Aldredge delivers no-no for Grace in 11-0 win over TC-CH

Mason Aldredge tossed a no-hitter leading the Grace Community Cougars to an 11-0 win over Trinity Christian-Cedar Hill on Thursday in a TAPPS 2-4A baseball game.

Aldredge struck out seven and did not walk a batter in the contest.

Aldredge, the leadoff hitter, was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs. Chris McLeod had three hits, one of which was a double.

Call Florence had two doubles and Chandler Nutt added a two-bagger.

Nutt had two hits and three RBIs, while Andrew Melhart and Florence had two hits apiece. Jonny Spitzer added a single.

Also Thursday, Bishop Gorman defeated TC-CH 5-4.

MESQUITE — Parker Towns struck out 12 in a complete-game two-hitter as All Saints defeated Dallas Christian 7-0 on Thursday in TAPPS 2-4A action.

Towns also added three RBIs while Aston Francis had three hits for the Trojans (22-5, 13-2).

BULLARD — Clayton Engel was 3 for 3 with six RBIs to spark the Bullard Brook Hill Guard to a 21-0 win over Dallas First Baptist in a baseball game on Thursday.

Engel also hurled four innings, allowing just three hits while striking out six.

Jonah Gonzales was 4 for 4 with three RBIs for the Guard. Blake Maddox was 3 for 4 with three RBIs and Seth Brasher added two hits and three RBIs.

Maddox had a triple and double, while Gonzales and Engel had doubles.

Lindale eases past Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE — Lindale scored seven runs in the fifth to put away Jacksonville in a 15-3 victory Thursday.

The Eagles (16-6-2, 7-2 District 16-4A) trailed 2-1 entering the fifth before they scored 14 runs over the final three innings.

Sam Sitton hit a home run for Lindale while Ryan Dudley and Kyle Bond hit triples. The slugging Eagles also had doubles from Jon French and Jesse Valdez.
